When I was eight years old, I was convinced I could cure the suffering of the mind.
I truly believed I could help people heal. That little girl's dream shaped the rest of my life.
Private practice was always the goal. I wanted the freedom to think independently, stay curious, and become the kind of therapist my clients needed. Not simply the therapist I had been taught to be.
I loved it.
What I didn't expect was how lonely it could be.
Over time, I came to realize that private practice wasn't the problem.
Trying to build a meaningful career alone was.

I don't want to walk away from a profession I love for that reason.
And I don't want anyone else to either.
Through deliberate practice, I've learned that I think better alongside thoughtful colleagues.
The ones who ask curious questions, challenge my assumptions, and help me see what I couldn't see on my own.
